Nuvi 255w charging help?
I got a garmin nuvi 255w with a vehicle power cable and i think i plug it into the lighter into the car but i don’t know so if you please tell me
There’s nowhere else you can plug it but a lighter socket, with that plug. If you want to charge it indoors, plug the USB cable into the computer and leave it while the GPS charges. It may take a few hours. You have to have the computer on. So, now you know 2 ways to charge your GPS. It’ll run on just the battery for a few hours, but while you’re driving, keep the lighter cord plugged in.
Garmin will give you one free map update to get the new unit up to date. Unless you have the lifetime subscription subsequent updates are expensive $$$. You’re going to love your NUVI. It will guide you even while in your pocket if you leave it on. That’s one way to keep from losing your car on the street while you shop or go to a fair or stuff like that. Covered, multi-level parking lots aren’t helped, so if you park in SanFrancisco International Airport, the Garmin won’t see satellites in there to guide you with.
I think you can even put audio-books on the nuvi, and that helps on long trips where all the radio stations fade out and all you pick up is the preacher. “Accidental Time Machine” is pretty good.
